Our new favorite college basketball team, Florida International, led by Isiah Thomas, is already causing a stir and they haven't even started practicing yet!
FIU is scheduled to play in the Coaches Vs. Cancer Tournament in mid November and apparently they thought they were going to open with Ohio State in a regional, but were informed today they'd be facing defending National Champion North Carolina instead. Zeke's not happy about it and is threatening to pull out of the tournament.
What's the big deal? Whether it's North Carolina or Ohio State, FIU's going to get pounded no matter what.... It's not like Ohio State is a Division 2 school or something. I don't think the Golden Panthers chances of winning this tournament has been dampened or anything. Just them being invited to this tournament to participate is the recognition they were looking for anyway.
