Villa Park / El Toro

El Toro - 7
Villa Park - 3

In game 3 of the Foothill Tournament, ET jumped out early and never gave it up.

Devin Schaefers with 2 rbi's in the first and Gavin Collins with 2 more in the 2nd, gave the Chargers all they'd need on the day, as Brett Hammond shut down VP. When Hammond left after 5, El Toro was up 7-0 and coasted from there.

Earlier, Byron Manzo executed a great hit and run, driving the ball to the right hand side and scoring Logan Roberts from 1st. Cort Lioi continued his hot streak with an rbi double and Mitchell Tolman chipped in with a triple.

Defensively, the Chargers turned 3 double plays helping offset any damage Villa Park posed on this hot, sunny, early morning game.

We're now down to 1 game in this round robin tournament, with the final game being played Saturday the 17th at 9am. El Toro will play their rain out game from Monday (Claremont High School) and if they can win and hold the Wolves to a low score, we'll be grabbing spots for the parade route thru Lake Forest!

Go Chargers,

Bill
